GoRedistricting can be confusing for even the most experienced person. It is easy to get lost in the array of map making software, layers of demographic and political data, and milieu of state and federal laws.
What is at the heart of your redistricting plan? Is it to protect Democratic members? Are you working to expand your caucus? Are their certain legislators you are looking to put in a hot seat? As similar as the questions may seem, each may require a different approach to drawing districts. Our team brings together over a century of experience in mapmaking, data analysis and redistricting litigation to help you answer these questions.
Along with our partners at NCEC Services, our team will work with you throughout the redistricting process. We can help you understand the criteria for redistricting in your state. Our team of researchers and analysts can comb through historic data and demographic forecasts to help you see what districts lines mean now…and 10 years from now. We can also review your already prepared maps to point out potential strengths and weaknesses with your plans.
NCEC Services will be using Caliper’s “Maptitude” for redistricting, and recommends that you do the same. We have arranged a 33% discount for Democratic state legislative caucuses and Democratic Governors. While we appreciate the work of non-partisan state redistricting campaigns, we are unable to extend the discount to you.
